Laminate-faced plywood

Plywood — layers of natural timber laid crosswise and hot-pressed with adhesive — under a laminate face pressed from several layers of material at high heat and pressure.

The result resists scratching and abrasion and comes in wood grains, stone looks and plain colours. It is the upper end of the range, for work where both the timber quality and the finish have to hold up.
